By Plane. Newark International and Philadelphia International are the closest and most convenient major airports, although JFK and LaGuardia airports are within reasonable distance. Flights to Trenton/Mercer Airport on Shuttle America are available from Boston. The Princeton Airporter provides shuttle service from JFK and Newark to Princeton hotels. In addition, rental cars, taxis, and limousines are available to travel to Mathematica from these airports. From JFK and LaGuardia, Salem Transportation Company provides connections to New Jersey transportation services in Newark. Those driving to Mathematica from Philadelphia International should take I-95 and follow the prescribed car route from Philadelphia. Those driving from Newark International should take the New Jersey Turnpike and follow the prescribed car route from the northeast.
By Bus. Suburban Transit buses run daily from the Port Authority Bus Terminal in New York to Nassau Street in Princeton and the Clinton Avenue train station in Trenton. From either place, taxis are available to Mathematica.
By Train. From New York, Philadelphia, Newark, and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at Princeton Junction. From there it is only a short taxi ride to Mathematica. Other Amtrak trains, including the Washington Metroliner, stop in Trenton, where taxis are available. If you are driving to Mathematica from the Trenton train station, follow the signs to get on Route 1 north. Proceed on Route 1 north to the Alexander Road/Princeton Junction exit (approximately 7 miles) and follow the directions beginning at * in the paragraph after next.
By Car. From the northeast, take the New Jersey Turnpike south to exit 8 (NJ Route 33, Hightstown/Freehold). Bear right out of the toll area to Route 33 east (Twin Rivers/Freehold/Rt. 133 By-Pass) and follow signs leading to Rt. 133. Take Rt. 133 all the way to the end of the highway, bear right, and exit onto Rt. 571 (Princeton-Hightstown Road), following the sign that leads to Princeton. Go through six stoplights and at the seventh stoplight, turn left onto Alexander Road (between Mobil and Shell gas stations). Bear left at the "Y" intersection and turn right at the top of the hill. Cross over the bridge, go through the first light, and turn right at the second driveway into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From the northwest, take Route 22 east until it crosses into New Jersey and becomes I-78 east. Continue east to exit 17 (marked Flemington) and go south on Route 31 to I-95 north. Take I-95 north to the Route U.S. 1 north exit (exit 67). Proceed approximately 4 miles to the Alexander Road/Princeton—Princeton Junction exit. *Make a right turn at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Go through two more traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Philadelphia and points south, go north on I-95 into New Jersey. (From the Pennsylvania Turnpike, exit at U.S. Route 1 north. Proceed 6 ½ miles and follow the sign for Yardley and I-95 north.) Proceed to the U.S. Route 1 north exit (exit 67). Travel north on Route 1 to the Alexander Road/Princeton—Princeton Junction exit. Make a right turn at the light at the end of the exit ramp. Go through two more traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Northern New Jersey on Route 1 south, go to the Alexander Road, East, Princeton Junction exit which places you on Alexander Road. Go through three traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile after last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
From Nassau Street in Princeton (Route 27), take Washington Road (Rts. 571/526) to Route 1. Make a right onto Route 1 South and proceed to the Alexander Road, East, Princeton Junction exit which places you on Alexander Road. Go through three traffic lights and look for the entrance to Alexander Park on your left (about .3 mile after last light). Make left into Alexander Park complex and continue to building 600. The building will be on your left and the parking area on your right.
Survey Operations Center. Follow the appropriate directions by car above to U.S. Route 1. If you are traveling north or south on Route 1, proceed to the Alexander Road/Princeton Junction exit. Go through two traffic lights (if coming from Route 1north, make right at first light, if traveling south on Route 1, go straight at light) and look for the entrance to 707 Alexander Road on your left (about .3 mile past last light). Make left into the 707 Alexander Road complex and continue to building 3. The main entrance to Suite 304 in on the leftmost side of building 3. There is parking in the lot in front of the building.

By Plane. National Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. From there, take the Yellow Line and follow the directions below for traveling by Metro. From Dulles International Airport, the Washington Flyer provides shuttle service to the East Falls Church Metro station. From there, take the Orange Line and follow the directions below for traveling by Metro. In addition, rental cars and taxis are available to travel to Mathematica from these airports.
By Train. From New York, Philadelphia, Newark, and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at Union Station. From there it is only a short taxi or Metro ride to Mathematica. By Metro, take the Red Line toward Shady Grove. Go two stops to Gallery Place/Chinatown. From there, go down to the lower platform and take either the Yellow Line (toward Huntington) or the Green Line (toward Branch Avenue); either will stop at L'Enfant Plaza. Then follow the directions below.
By Metro, take the Yellow, Blue, Orange, or Green Line to the L'Enfant Plaza Metro station. Follow signs to exit at 7th and Maryland, Smithsonian Museums. The entrance to the building will be to your right at the top of the escalator. The Mathematica lobby is on the fifth floor.
By Car. From the north, take I-95 south to the Baltimore Washington Parkway to the New York Avenue exit. Proceed on New York Avenue to I-395 south. Proceed on I-395 south to the 6th Street, SW, exit. Proceed for two blocks. The entrance to the building is on the left at the foot of C Street across from the Holiday Inn. Parking is available in the building parking garage on the left or in the Holiday Inn parking garage on the right. Metered parking is available on the street, but there are many restrictions. Once you are in the building, the Mathematica lobby is on the fifth floor.
From the south, take I-95 north to I-395 north. After you pass over the Potomac River, follow the right exit for 12th Street/L'Enfant Plaza. Stay to the right (L'Enfant Plaza side) and turn right onto D Street SW. Proceed to 6th Street, SW, and turn left. Parking is available in the building parking garage on the left or in the Holiday Inn parking garage on the right. Metered parking is available on the street, but there are many restrictions. Once you are in the building, the Mathematica lobby is on the fifth floor.
From the east, take Route 50 west to I-395 south. Proceed on I-395 south to the 6th Street, SW, exit. Turn right immediately onto 6th Street, SW. Proceed for two blocks. The entrance to the building is at the foot of C Street across from the Holiday Inn. Metered parking is available on the street, in the building lot on the left, or in the Holiday Inn lot on the right. Once you are in the building, the Mathematica lobby is on the fifth floor.
From the west, take I-66 east to Constitution Avenue (please note that there are travel restrictions on this road from 6:30 a.m. to 9 a.m., when each vehicle must carry a minimum of two people). Proceed to 7th Street, NW, and turn right. Turn left onto Independence Avenue, SW. Proceed for one block to 6th Street, SW, and turn right. The entrance to the building is at the foot of C Street across from the Holiday Inn. Parking is available in the building parking garage on the right or in the Holiday Inn parking garage on the left. Metered parking is available on the street, but there are many restrictions. Once you are in the building, the Mathematica lobby is on the fifth floor.

By Plane. Logan Airport is the closest and most convenient airport. From there, it is probably easiest to reach the office by taxi or Back Bay Coach (shuttle van service--advance reservations recommended). The office is also accessible by subway: Take a MassPort Shuttle Bus from the ground transportation area of the terminal where you arrive and ask to be let off at the subway. Take the Blue Line toward Bowdoin. Go three stops to State and change to the Orange Line toward Forest Hills or Arborway. Go one stop to Downtown Crossing and change to the Red Line toward Alewife/Harvard Square. Go four stops to Central Square. Then follow the directions below for traveling by subway.
By Train. From New York, Philadelphia, Newark, and other stations along the main north-south line of Amtrak, take any train scheduled to stop at South Station in Boston. From there take the Red Line of the subway five stops to the Central Square station. Then follow the subway directions below.
By Subway. The office is about 1/4 mile from the Central Square stop on the Red Line (see map below). Exit Central Square Station via either the Prospect Street (outbound trains) or Western Avenue (inbound trains) exit. When you reach street level, walk along Massachusetts Avenue in the direction of Au Bon Pain (left side of street) and Citizens Bank (right side of street). You will also pass a Fleet Bank and the Cambridge City Hall. The address numbers will be increasing. The office, at 955 Massachusetts Avenue, is a dark glass building on the right side of the street. Proceed to the eighth floor and turn to the left as you get off the elevator.
There is also bus service from Central Square to the front of the Cambridge office. Take the #1 Bus Harvard/Holyoke Gate Dudley Station via Mass Ave. Click here for subway/bus/train system schedules, maps, and other information.
