Joanne Pfleiderer is a versatile communicator recognized for her ability to translate complex research effectively for diverse groups. She works to extend Mathematica’s impact on public well-being through efforts to boost the visibility and accessibility of the firm’s research, using innovative communications strategies, digital platforms, and engagement with new audiences.
Before joining Mathematica, she spent more than a decade at Educational Testing Service as a writer and editor, focusing on education research and policy. Her experience includes developing the Nation’s Report Cards, including the first national assessment of computer competence. A valued partner on communications and technical teams, she has extensive website development experience and supports best practices for smart content, responsive design, and search engine optimization, as well as measurement of effectiveness through data analytics. An award-winning writer, she holds a B.A. in English from the State University College of New York at Buffalo and completed graduate coursework in education at Rider University.
Mid-Atlantic Regional Educational Laboratory: Building Partnerships to Improve Education Through Research and Technical Support
Mathematica is leading the REL for the mid-Atlantic region. The REL disseminates research, conducts applied research, and provides technical assistance, training, and coaching related to support the use of research to improve school and student performance.
