Building a Community-Wide Early Learning System: East Yakima at Baseline

As the nation focuses increasingly on educational accountability and the performance of public schools, policymakers, educators, and concerned parents are taking stock of the developmental milestones children must reach before they enter kindergarten and are seeking ways to ensure that children come to school prepared to succeed. In the state of Washington, public and private partners have come together to increase early learning opportunities for young children and support systems that can improve children’s readiness for school.
