About Kaylyn

Kaylyn Swankoski’s research focuses on delivery system reform, including evaluating new payment models and other delivery system redesign efforts to improve quality and reduce costs. She specializes in applying quantitative methods to evaluate primary care practice transformation initiatives.

Swankoski currently leads the survey analysis on Mathematica’s Evaluation of Comprehensive Primary Care Plus (CPC+), a large-scale multipayer initiative to transform primary care delivery led by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Previously, she led the survey analysis for Mathematica’s Evaluation of the CPC Initiative. In addition, she leads research with the University of Washington and the Veterans Affairs (VA) Puget Sound Health Care System that evaluates the effect of VA primary care transformation initiatives on veterans’ health service use and costs. Swankoski has experience conducting implementation and disability research.

Swankoski’s work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including The New England Journal of Medicine, Health Affairs, JAMA Internal Medicine, and Annals of Family Medicine. She holds an M.A. in economics from Duke University.
