By linking administrative data from two sources—the Disability Analysis File and Master Earnings File—this report creates detailed primary impairment status measures and examines the employment and earnings distribution of recent Social Security Disability Insurance beneficiaries and working-age Supplemental Security Income disability benefit recipients. The findings reveal great variation in employment and earnings across groups.
