Key Findings

Key Findings:

  • Rehabilitating irrigation infrastructure did not increase the amount of land that was irrigated or lead to increased production.
  • Rehabilitating irrigation infrastructure did not increase farmers’ household income.

This report evaluates the impacts of irrigation infrastructure rehabilitation implemented under the Millennium Challenge Corporation’s Compact with the Republic of Armenia. The evaluation uses a matched comparison group design to assess the effectiveness of rehabilitating irrigation canals, pumping stations, gravity schemes, drainage systems, and other related irrigation activities.
