This brief describes enhanced intake models deployed for all new customers seeking support from American Job Centers (AJCs). In this model, AJC customers received an intake assessment and a staff-assisted service from a Workforce Investment Act (WIA) or Wagner-Peyser Employment Service (ES) program staff member. This brief describes the rationale for the model, how these seven local areas implemented this model in practice, and the challenges they encountered. It is one of 11 special topic briefs based on findings from the WIA Gold Standard Evaluation Implementation study.
