The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation awarded a series of District-Charter Collaboration Grants to seven cities in November 2012, with the goal of fostering cooperation between the public and charter school sectors. This issue brief summarizes key findings from Mathematica’s evaluation of the seven grantees. According to our evaluation, educator grantees cited their collaborative work on tasks such as classroom observation, operations alignment, and curriculum development as particularly helpful to their professional development.
