Mathematica welcomes Beth Boulay as a Senior Fellow

Education leaders are making high-stakes decisions about how to improve student outcomes and invest in strategies backed by evidence. To help clients meet those challenges, Mathematica has hired Beth Boulay, Ed.D., as a senior fellow in its Education, Employment, Healthcare Evaluation, and Disability Division. In her new role, Boulay will lead research, evaluation, and technical assistance projects that support better decisions and stronger outcomes for learners.

Boulay is a recognized leader in education research and evidence building, with more than 20 years of experience helping education agencies, foundations, and nonprofit organizations use rigorous research to strengthen programs and improve student outcomes. Most recently, she served as Distinguished Senior Research Scientist at Brown University’s Annenberg Institute for School Reform, where she directed the evaluation of Massachusetts’ Literacy Launch initiative. Previously, she spent more than two decades at Abt Global, leading major research and technical assistance projects for the U.S. Department of Education. She also serves as president of the Society for Research on Educational Effectiveness.

Beth’s deep experience helping them translate research into action will strengthen our work with clients and expand Mathematica’s impact.”

Boulay earned an Ed.D. and M.Ed. in human development from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Brown University.
