2022 – 2024

Project Overview

Objective

Working with HHS Technology Group To provide analytic services for NKFM’s Morris Hood III Chronic Kidney Disease Prevention Initiative. This initiative seeks to prevent and reduce kidney disease in communities at high risk or with low access to care.

Project Motivation

This project will raise awareness of chronic kidney disease (CKD) prevention; promote use of evidence-based methods to reduce CKD; and find financially sustainable ways to prevent, detect, and manage CKD. People with kidney disease are at higher risk for poor outcomes from COVID-19.

Prepared For

National Kidney Foundation of Michigan

This project aims to help reduce preventable kidney disease and its progression within communities at greatest risk and/or least access in Michigan.

To support this effort, Mathematica will use Michigan Medicaid claims and lab data to conduct a total of 14 analyses, including analyses to provide baseline assessment of kidney health in Michigan, a cost calculator and a risk calculator for the Michigan Medicaid beneficiaries, and a series of trend analyses to assess impacts made by the initiative.
