Anna Beckham is a research analyst at Mathematica with expertise in technical assistance, stakeholder engagement, qualitative research, and program evaluation across human services.
She specializes in engaging practitioners and people with lived experience and translating complex research, data, and policy into accessible, actionable resources.
At Mathematica, Ms. Beckham supports the Youth At-Risk of Homelessness summative evaluation, leading efforts to engage young adults with lived experience in the development of study materials and dissemination products. She provides technical assistance to the California Department of Social Services’ CalWORKs program, including supporting the CalWORKs Home Visiting Program by designing communities of practice, peer-learning activities, trainings, and continuous quality improvement resources. Ms. Beckham also leads participant-centered revisions to California’s statewide CalWORKs Program handbook, translating complex program requirements into plain language. In addition, she supports the department’s Case File Review work by facilitating collaboration and helping partners use data to identify opportunities for program improvement.
Ms. Beckham has conducted interviews and focus groups and delivered presentations, trainings, and facilitated discussions for federal, state, and local partners. Her work spans family economic well-being, child welfare, early childhood programs, and services for families and young people. She holds an MPA from the University of Wisconsin–Madison’s La Follette School of Public Affairs and BAs in sociology and Francophone studies from Bates College.
