Ella Pestine is the Operational Lead for the Mathematica Implementation Center (IC), as part of the Public Health Data Modernization Implementation Center Program.
In this role, Pestine collaborates with partner ICs and National Partner (NP) sponsors to support program planning and execution. Pestine coordinates among the program workstreams, identifying process improvements and promote collaboration throughout the program. Pestine also manages internal team operations including subcontractor relationships, staff development, and program management.
Pestine’s work focuses on managing complex technical projects and overseeing project operations. Throughout her time at Mathematica, Pestine has managed a variety of projects, including the data analytics workstream under the Medicaid and CHIP Learning Collaboratives’ Public Health Emergency Unwinding project, CMS Upper Payment Limits project, COVID-19 wastewater surveillance initiatives, and the Alternative Payments Model Program Analysis Contractor project.
Before joining Mathematica, Pestine worked on the Food and Drug Administration’s Sentinel Initiative at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute and Harvard Medical School’s Department of Population Medicine. She has an M.P.H. in epidemiology from Boston University.
