Michaella Morzuch focuses on evaluating and promoting best practices in Medicaid managed care. Her expertise includes monitoring and oversight of Medicaid programs, qualitative research methods, and technical assistance.

Morzuch currently leads a task for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) that aims to strengthen federal monitoring and oversight of state directed payments in Medicaid managed care. She recently led an investigation for the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission on the design features and use of state directed payment. In addition, she has led qualitative data collection and analysis efforts for various CMS and foundation evaluations to inform policy decisions and help vulnerable populations. Morzuch has also supported Medicaid programs through technical assistance to states.

Before joining Mathematica, Morzuch was a legislative aide at the Massachusetts House of Representatives for the vice chair of health care financing. She holds an M.P.P. from the School of Public Policy at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
