Principal Statistician

Nancy Clusen’s work focuses on health care policy and programs. She has extensive expertise in survey statistics, survey methodology, policy analysis, data analysis, and quantitative research.

Clusen has over 25 years of experience in quantitative evaluation methods and complex sample design and selection. She leads the sampling design and nonresponse weighting for several evaluations of Center for Medicare & Medicaid Innovation models, including the Primary Care First, Making Care Primary, and Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience (GUIDE) Model. As lead survey statistician and task leader on projects, Clusen designs and implements samples, creates sampling and nonresponse adjusted weights, ensures overall data quality, and designs and conducts methodological studies.

Clusen joined Mathematica in 1999. She holds an M.S. in survey methodology from the University of Maryland.
