Nicola Lowry

Advisory Services Analyst

Nicola Lowry is an advisory services analyst at Mathematica who currently works on state and federal research projects with an emphasis on qualitative research and program evaluation. Lowry also works on a foundation project to build sustainable and scalable behavioral health crisis systems that reduce unnecessary hospitalizations and law enforcement involvement. In addition, she conducted qualitative research for an evaluation of Vermont’s demonstration project to connect people with disabilities to high-demand, high-quality careers through career pathways and credentialed training opportunities.

Before joining Mathematica, Lowry worked in healthcare policy and research and held various client-facing roles in nonprofit settings. She became interested in public health in her previous role at Open Arms of Minnesota, for which she coordinated provision of medically tailored meals to people with life-threatening illnesses and critical health issues. She holds an M.P.H. in health policy and administration from the University of Illinois Chicago and a B.A. in environmental studies from Carleton College.
