Mary Allison Geibel is a researcher who specializes in using the national Transformed Medicaid Statistical Information System (T-MSIS) Analytic Files (TAF) for data analytics on access to and quality of care for the Medicaid and CHIP (Children’s Health Insurance Program) population. Focus areas for her work include tracking enrollment trends, access to care, health outcomes, and health disparities in the Medicaid and CHIP population.

Since joining Mathematica in 2017, Geibel has led various TAF-based analyses on a range of topics such as monitoring the impact of COVID-19 on the Medicaid program, profiling sickle cell disease in the Medicaid and CHIP population, and analyzing access to oral health care services for children. She has led the creation of TAF-based measures focused on preventive services for children, prenatal and postpartum care, behavioral health conditions and services, and avoidable hospitalizations. Geibel helps develop data visualization dashboards and data infographic products using TAF-based analytic results. She currently leads work piloting the use of TAF for calculating quality measures for the Early and Periodic Screening, Diagnostic and Treatment benefit in Medicaid and the Child and Adult Core Set measures.

Before joining Mathematica, Geibel worked at the American Cancer Society, studying the impact of physical activity and sedentary behaviors on overall health and cancer. Geibel holds an M.P.H. in epidemiology from the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
