Nicardo McInnis is an economist who designs and conducts rigorous studies to assess the impacts of policies and programs designed to improve the lives of individuals and families with low incomes.

McInnis plays key roles on several experimental and quasi-experimental studies that evaluate employment, training, and social support programs and related policies. His work includes large-scale evaluations such as the Next Generation of Enhanced Employment Strategies and the Evaluation of Coaching-Focused Interventions for Hard-to-Employ TANF Clients and Other Low-Income Populations. He has also contributed to projects in education and nutrition, including serving as a reviewer for the What Works Clearinghouse on a variety of topics. His experience includes designing impact studies, managing data collection and analysis, and translating research findings to inform evidence-based policymaking.

Before joining Mathematica, McInnis was an assistant professor of economics at California State University Northridge. His research has been published in several peer-reviewed journals, including leading economics journals such as the Journal of Human Resources. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Georgia State University.
