Building Partnerships to Improve Education: Meet Some of REL Mid-Atlantic’s Research Alliances

Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Mid-Atlantic partners with local stakeholders in using evidence to improve teaching, learning, and school leadership. REL Mid-Atlantic provides free training, coaching, and analytic technical support to help apply high quality evidence to education improvement initiatives. It also conducts, applies, and disseminates research and research-based technical support in collaboration with stakeholders to promote continuous improvement of educational practice.

The family engagement alliance focuses on helping public school systems make better decisions about how to partner with families for student success.

The training and supporting excellent educators alliance focuses on trends in preparing, matriculating, and retaining educators. Its current emphasis is on new teachers and support for and evaluation of principals and school leaders.

The readiness for career entry and success alliance brings together educators, representatives from higher education institutions, and industry representatives from western Pennsylvania. It aims to better align workforce supply and demand and advance educators’ use of evidence to prepare students for postsecondary success.

REL Mid-Atlantic is 1 of 10 research centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education’s Institute of Education Sciences that partners with these stakeholders to use evidence to improve teaching, learning, and school leadership. Find out more about REL Mid-Atlantic and its alliances.
