John Schmitt is a senior director of analytics systems and technology in Mathematica’s Data Analytics Division. He is an expert in health care data analytics and managing large-scale analytic system development projects.
Schmitt directs a project supporting data analysis of health insurance exchange data, working with Federal stakeholders to define and document analytic requirements, design program metrics, analyze data sources, profile data, and implement reporting solutions within a Big Data environment. He also provides subject matter expertise to the project team, and supports data and report testing.
Before joining Mathematica in 2011, Schmitt held senior roles in operations and development at a number of software firms. He was a vice president of technology at Ebix, Inc. and vice president of development and principal at Infinity Systems Consulting. He also held a variety of increasingly responsible positions at Electronic Data Systems. Schmitt holds an M.S. in predictive analytics from Northwestern University.
