Go to Health Home Core Set Annual ReviewAnnual Review of the Medicaid and CHIP Child and Adult Core Sets of Quality Measures
The Child and Adult Core Sets of quality measures for Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are key indicators of the access to—and quality of—the health care Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries receive. The Core Sets are important tools states can use to monitor and improve the quality of health care provided to Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries.
Mathematica is supporting the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) by convening the Child and Adult Core Set Annual Review Workgroup to review and strengthen the Child and Adult Core Sets.
This year’s review will focus on updates to the 2025 Child and Adult Core Sets. In order to support states’ efforts to meet the upcoming 2024 mandatory reporting requirements and to provide sufficient time for states to prepare, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released both the 2023 and 2024 Child and Adult Core Health Care Quality Measurement Sets based on the recommendations of the 2023 Child and Adult Core Set Annual Review.
