The Child and Adult Core Sets of quality measures for Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are key indicators of the access to—and quality of—the health care Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries receive. The Core Sets are important tools states can use to monitor and improve the quality of health care provided to Medicaid and CHIP beneficiaries.
Mathematica is supporting the Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS) by convening the Child and Adult Core Sets Annual Review Workgroup to review and strengthen the Child and Adult Core Sets. This year's review will focus on updates to the 2029 Child and Adult Core Sets.

The final report of the 2028 Child and Adult Core Sets Annual Review Workgroup is now available. This report summarizes the Workgroup process, discussion, recommendations, and public comments. The report is available for download at the link below.

This virtual meeting will introduce the Workgroup members, review the recommendations from the 2028 Child and Adult Core Sets Annual Review, provide an overview of the 2029 Core Sets Review process, and prepare Workgroup members and the public for the 2029 public Call for Measures. This meeting is open to Workgroup members and the public.

In this multi-day, virtual meeting, the Workgroup will make recommendations for strengthening the 2029 Child and Adult Core Sets. Workgroup members will discuss and vote on the measures suggested for addition to or removal from the Core Sets and identify gap areas in the Core Sets. There will be opportunities for public comment throughout the meeting. This meeting is open to Workgroup members and the public.
