Mathematica Experts Share Important Insights at ADvancing States' Home and Community-Based Services Conference

Dec 06, 2021

Mathematica researchers look forward to participating in the Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS) Conference sponsored by ADvancing States from December 6 to 10, 2021. The conference is an important opportunity for federal, state, and local leaders to share practices and policies that improve state systems’ delivery of long-term services and supports. Several Mathematica experts in long-term services and supports will be sharing insight from their work on key HCBS topics.

Erin Weir Lakhmani is presenting a session at the Medicaid Managed Long-Term Services & Supports Intensive called “Context is Key: Factors Influencing State Decisions for Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNPs) Contracts.” This session will highlight contracting strategies from two states that have integrated their Medicare and Medicaid benefits and share findings on factors influencing state use of Dual Eligible Special Needs Plans.

Andrea Wysocki and Jenna Libersky are presenting a session called “Using NCI-AD Data to Understand the Impact of Managed Long-Term Services and Supports (MLTSS): Lessons from National and State Evaluations.” As more state programs shift to MLTSS, Mathematica will dive into the impact of this change, not just on health outcomes and service use but also on experience of care and quality of life for beneficiaries.

Jessica Ross, Susan Williams, and Victoria Peebles are presenting at the Money Follows the Person Grantee Meeting. Their presentation will inform grantees about the technical assistance available to them and new reporting requirements that will begin in January. Mathematica has deep insight into Money Follows the Person from evaluating the demonstration and providing technical assistance since its inception in 2007.

We look forward to participating in this conference to better assist our partners in their continual improvement of vital home and community-based services.
