Elizabeth Fei is a managing consultant in Mathematica’s learning and strategy function. For a decade, Fei has helped organizations address pressing and complex social issues through human-centered program design and implementation, community-oriented program evaluation and research, and a rigorous and passionate commitment to racial equity and other forms of anti-oppression work. At Mathematica, Fei works to build the capacity of federal and foundation clients to advance equitable, inclusive, and evidence-informed strategy.
Fei serves as a deputy project director and learning and strategy consultant for the Walton Family Foundation’s K-12 initiative, helping to develop rapid-cycle evidence reviews on education and economic mobility topics, measure the impact of investment portfolios, and build the foundation’s internal capacity for strategic learning. Additional highlights of Fei’s work include leading technical assistance engagements and authoring tools for agencies of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to build their capacity to advance equity in their policies, programs, and grantmaking. Fei is also an experienced training designer and facilitator.
Fei joined Mathematica in 2021, and holds an M.A. in critical ethnic studies from DePaul University and a B.A. in foreign languages and international affairs from the University of Puget Sound.
