Shazia Miller

Senior Vice President, Managing Director, Human Services Education and Employment Division

Shazia Miller leads Mathematica's Education and Employment division.

Miller is a leader for change with more than 25 years of experience, most recently with the National Opinion Research Center (NORC). She has worked on a wide range of educational issues, and her expertise is focused on youth, college access and success. She has guided teams of researchers and analysts in rigorous experimental and quasi-experimental studies. Before working at NORC, she held positions with the American Institutes for Research (AIR), Learning Point Associates (before its merger with AIR), the Chicago Public School system, and the Consortium on Chicago School Research at the University of Chicago, where she continues to serve as a member of the steering committee.

Miller is active in the Society for Research in Educational Effectiveness, the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management, and the American Educational Research Association. She has served on National Science Foundation Directorates and the Institute of Education Sciences Review Panels and has reviewed for various journals and organizations. As an authority on education and child development, Miller has appeared in or written for a wide range of media outlets, including Education Week, CNN, and Medical Daily. 

Miller holds a Ph.D. in Human Development and Social Policy from Northwestern University.
