Elena Saavedra Jimenez

Senior User Experience Designer

Elena Jimenez is a senior user experience designer at Mathematica with expertise in designing web applications; writing website content; developing instructional digital resources; and conducting user experience research to enhance the usability and efficacy of websites, services, and digital platforms.

Before joining Mathematica, Jimenez served as a freelancer providing start-ups and nonprofits with design and research support for web and mobile interface projects. She also worked as a research associate at the American Institutes for Research (AIR), where she supported the development of research products and managed website development, testing, and design, and the launch of digital products for the technical assistance centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Jimenez also contributed to AIR’s social-emotional learning knowledge-sharing initiative by codeveloping a social-emotional learning online training for the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and coauthoring two summary briefs: Toward Transformative Social and Emotional Learning: Using an Equity Lens and Using a Developmental Lens to Align Social and Emotional Learning Frameworks, Standards, Practice, and Assessment.

Jimenez holds a certificate in user experience/user interface design; a master of arts in international education from George Washington University; and a bachelor of science in elementary education from the University of Maryland.
