Elena Jimenez is a senior user experience designer at Mathematica with expertise in designing web applications; writing website content; developing instructional digital resources; and conducting user experience research to enhance the usability and efficacy of websites, services, and digital platforms.

Some of her work includes serving as the user experience designer for Results for America’s American Rescue Plan (ARP) Data and Evidence Dashboard, Mathematica’s Health Systems Dashboard, and the 2019 grand prize winning Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality visualization challenge dashboard, Community Connector. Before joining Mathematica, Jimenez served as a freelancer providing start-ups and nonprofits with design and research support for web and mobile interface projects. She also worked as a research associate at the American Institutes for Research (AIR); in that role, she supported the development of research products and managed website development, testing, and design and the launch of digital products for the technical assistance centers funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Jimenez also contributed to AIR’s social-emotional learning knowledge-sharing initiative by codeveloping a social-emotional learning online training for the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction and coauthoring two summary briefs: Toward Transformative Social and Emotional Learning: Using an Equity Lens and Using a Developmental Lens to Align Social and Emotional Learning Frameworks, Standards, Practice, and Assessment.

Jimenez holds a certificate in user experience/user interface design, an M.A. in international education from George Washington University, and a B.S. in elementary education from the University of Maryland.
